Ingredients
1 cup Organic Coconut Oil
1 cup Decarboxylated Cannabis or Hemp (about 7g or 1/4 oz.)
Instructions
Step 1: Decarboxylate your cannabis
Decarboxylation is a necessary step in making cannabis infusions. Both THC and CBD need to go through this process.
When you decarboxylate your cannabis at a controlled temperature for the right amount of time you:
fully activate the THC in your material making it readily psychoactive.
fully activating the CBD in your material making it more effective
get potent edibles, tinctures and topicals with all of the medicinal value intact.
How to decarboxylate your cannabis or hemp.
Preheat oven to its lowest setting.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and evenly spread out flower.
Place baking sheet into the oven and bake for an hour.
Remove and allow to cool completely. Use immediately or store in a mason jar in the freezer.
Step 2: Infusing the coconut oil
1. Combine the following in a crockpot on warm or low (warm is usually sufficient in newer crockpots and low is perfect for older crockpots):
Stir every half hour or so.
After about 4 hours (minimum) of heating and steeping, turn off the crockpot and allow the oil to cool before moving onto the next step.
Step 3: Strain Your Oil
Line with a large piece of cheesecloth or metal strainer.
Slowly pour plant matter and coconut oil into the strainer.
Squeeze the oil out of the plant matter (cheesecloth method) or press firmly with a wooden spoon.
Pour your weed/hemp oil into a pint jar and place it in the fridge until cool. Seal with a lid. Store in refrigerator or in a cool, dark place.
