What is Fire Cider?
It is a spicy vinegar that is supportive to the immune and cardiovascular systems. Fire Cider is a powerful herbal tonic that can be taken daily to boost immunity and prevent infections, or during an acute infection, to help strengthen your bodies immune system.
It's also amazing as a digestive tonic that can be taken with meals, or as a cardiovascular tonic to stay warm during the winter months.
Ingredients~
1-2 cup sliced ginger
1-2 cup sliced horseradish (optional)
1-2 cup chopped onion
1/4-1/2 cup sliced turmeric
1/4-1/2 cup sliced garlic
1/4 cup thyme
2 lemons sliced
3 chopped jalapeno
ACV (apple cider vinegar)
Honey to taste (later in recipe)
Instructions~
Combine all ingredients however you choose (except the honey) into a large jar. Pour the ACV over the ingredients, making sure to cover the herbs completely. Place a piece of parchment paper under the lid, preventing the ACV from tarnishing the metal lid. Close the lid. Place jar in a warm, dark place for 1-2 months. You may shake the jar or turn it over every few days. You also have the option to bury it within the earth for 1-2 months allowing nature to add her magic within this tonic. Cover the jar with a bag before burying. Once it has been at least 30 days you can strain the ingredients. Add liquid back into the jar and add honey to taste.
