Healing anxiety is not about controlling the mind

It is not about rewiring your thoughts.

Anxiety is in your nervous system.

Anxiety is not a mind problem, it’s a body problem.

Anxiety is your body’s response to perceived threats, rooted in an overactive nervous system that is stuck in a state of hyper vigilance.

Your nervous system, especially when dysregulated by chronic stress or past unresolved trauma, can keep you in a constant state of fight-or-flight. This leads to physical symptoms like a racing heart, tight muscles, and shallow breathing, which then fuel anxious thoughts and emotions.

Trying to control these thoughts without addressing the underlying nervous system imbalance means you are treating the symptoms without addressing the root.

To heal anxiety, you need to increase your ability to feel anxious and recognize that all it is – is a heightened sense of fear and overwhelm.

When you increase your capacity for feeling, your brain lessons the threat-response.

Healing anxiety isn’t about fighting your thoughts; it’s about nurturing and calming your body, allowing your mind to find peace and clarity naturally.
