Massage Lotion Candles

Updated: May 18, 2022

Ingredients

1.6 oz. Shea butter

1.4 oz. Cocoa butter

1.4 oz. Jojoba oil

1.4 oz. Soy wax

8 drops essential oil of your choice

Equipment Needed

Candle holder

candle wicks

wick holders

digital scale

scissors

skewers

double broiler

Getting candle container ready

~Place wick in melted wax and place on the bottom of the container to allow it to stick. Put containers aside until the oils are ready.

Melting the oils

~Place everything but the essential oils in a double broiler and heat on low.

~When the oils are fully melted, take the pan off the heat.

~Add the essential oils of your choice. (I like even numbers so I add in about 16-20 drops per container but play around and see what YOU like.)

~Pour melted oils into the containers. Filling about 3/4 of the way full, depending if you have a lid or not.

~Allow the candles to cool for about 24 hours then trim the wick to your desired length.

How to use your candle

~Light the candle and leave it burn for anywhere between 5-15 minutes or until there is your desired amount of melted wax.

~Blow out the flame and pour the warm oil directly into your hand and immediately massage into the skin with your fingertips.

*If you don't have a double broiler you can still do this, just make sure that you constantly stir the oils while they are melting. You don't want to burn the oils.
